What is HR-SEO? - In laymen’s terms….

Well, where to begin… I was asked this question by some friends, and when I started to explain what it is exactly that I do, I saw there eyes glaze over and a look of complete and utter confusion cross their faces. I was surprised, as the people I was with were well educated and had a good general knowledge of new and emerging marketing strategies.
I suspect it was the explanation I gave, as being in this particular field you learn to use terms that are industry related, but obviously not widely known. As this is an emerging market, these terms will not be recognised by the general population, so here is what I hope will be a good explanation of exactly what HR-SEO is.
To begin with the title: HR-SEO
HR – widely know as the abbreviation for Human Recourses (department charged with finding, screening, recruiting and training job applicants).
SEO - an industry related term for search engine optimisation which is the process of tweaking your website so that it is at its optimal state to be picked up in the major search engines.
So if you put the two together it’s basically a way of getting jobs to the top of the search engines.
If you are able to apply directly through the company website, we check to see how easily this is done, and how user friendly the application process is. If it’s difficult to apply for a job then no amount of traffic generation is going to make the strategy successful.
We then look at the companies’ performance in all the major search engines for all their job titles in all locations.
For example: Dell Systems Engineer, London. Here we have all relevant search factors: i.e. brand name, job location and job title. If the Dell recruitment website comes up in the top 4 in Google, then the site is doing a great job in terms of employer brand and site optimisation. However, we have found that the majority of employers looking to implement direct recruitment have no proper search strategy integrated within their jobsites, and their employer-brand presence in search is minimal.
Now I suppose you are asking yourself, what is the point of advertising your vacancies online when you can just go through an agency or job portal?
Well, Google is currently dominating 90% of the UK’s search markets and targeting search engines significantly lowers cost-per-hire. By focusing on your search visibility you raise the awareness of ALL your jobs at a similar cost per month of placing a single job ad on a leading job portal.
Why use us: We are currently world leaders in this area of search, dominating in this very new and aggressive form of employer advertising as we have been operating for the past 4 years with our team of 18 guys researching, perfecting and honing our search techniques.
So to sum up, HR-SEO is basically getting your job ads to the top of the best search engines, optimising your employer brand and attracting the right employee candidates for the best return on investment.
