I’ve recently noticed just how generic most articles on recruiting online actually are. Most information portals on the web seem to feel that stating the obvious will suffice.

‘More than two thirds of recruiters are using the internet, its revolutionised global communication, lose the technology fear and jump right in – everyone’s doing it.’

As a rule I tend to not be impressed with such banter and figures. I along with most of my generation am fully aware that the internet is the main source of information and communication for most modern industries worldwide.

I’m usually quite lost when I read about a ‘fear’ in moving from more traditional means of advertising, marketing, branding and recruitment - to using the internet. I really haven’t met anyone who still has that mentality in my business interactions over the past 5 years.

A while back the very thought of being able to post your CV or vacant positions on proactive databases, which promote your skills and profile your positions to companies or high calibre career builders on a global scale - would have shocked and amazed.

Today this phenomenon is commonplace, yet still largely underutilized, and thus of great interest to me. For those still in the dark, it’s time to join the individuals and initiatives already reaping the benefits and rewards of this particular gold rush, by being educated and savvy about which search optimisation methods are viable, and which are old wives tales.

These are a few of the topics I’d like to see tackled right here on our recently birthed blog: Choosing legitimate search and recruitment partners, viable HR SEO methods and technology, and how to be in touch with advancements as they are happening, and a host of other valuable points.

After all it’s the analysis of these and other hot topics that set the recruitment and employer branding leaders of the world - apart from the pack.

Please feel free to contribute to my list of future topics – and to be in contact with me about any articles or topics you’d like to tackle or submit – I’d be more than glad to lend a hand in getting them published.
